Patch 4.1 is Live Now!
That’s right survivors, another patch is comin’ at ya! Check out all the details below.
Patch 4.1 addresses some Daybreak bugs that surfaced during early sessions, along with a few other random issues that had cropped up.

Key Highlights
  • A minor scripting error caused our new and improved resource loss events to behave just like the old ones, which was not an improvement. Now they actually behave as intended, with resource losses depending on low Morale and negative Traits.
  • We made some changes to address the bug that caused an audio blowout and loss of all sound. This problem is stubborn and elusive, so please let us know it you encounter it again after installing the update.
Daybreak Fixes
  • Red Talon now offers an explanation when they cannot send a contractor to a full community, rather than leaving you hanging.
  • Red Talon facilities now inform you that you were refunded the rare items needed to build them when they are dismantled.
  • Fixed an exploit that allowed Daybreak clients to hang around on the rewards screen and get rewards without playing.
  • The Select Starting Gear menu in Daybreak should no longer show inappropriate item descriptions when navigating off the edge of the menu.
  • Ferals should no longer be able to vindictively disable walls if killed while climbing.
  • Crawling zombies will no longer attempt to imitate helicopters by spinning their legs in the air.
Other Notable Fixes
  • The Purchase button for the Independence Pack actually goes away now when you buy the pack, instead of waiting to ambush you.
  • The Independence Pack banner should no longer jump in at inappropriate times after cinematics.
  • Legacy characters with Red Talon’s Compact Ordnance hero bonus should no longer crash the game.
  • CLEO Fire Support is no longer blocked when you are aiming your gun.
  • Characters with full Stamina will no longer waste snacks.
  • Kicking too many clients in rapid succession should no longer soft-lock the game.
  • The Survey Mode prompt should no longer follow you into a friend’s game and awkwardly hang around.
  • Hostile humans should no longer wink out of existence when hit with a car. They were getting off too easy.
  • Prestige now accurately counts towards the achievement “The Turn”.

Is this just when recruiting a RT soldier or does this also include not being able to summon the trader? That'd be so fucked up if you can't have a maxed out community just to call a trader...

How big is this update?

These fixes right here (except for spinning leg crawlers) make this an awesome patch. I was getting hit wayyyyyy too many times with the audio blowout scaring the piss out of me. The fix to negative events is also great!

Same here. 7 gig is fucking outrageous just to fix small potatoes. This game will be bigger than most AAA titles that I own very soon.

Kind of irritated that I can't call a fucking RT trader. I'm maxed out @ 9999 prestige, so it'd be wasteful to keep going in Daybreak.

I'm gonna be so irritated if I have to exile a member of my community just to call the prestige trader.

Most of these patches overwrite old data so the game doesnt actually get bigger. But 7gb is a lot for such small fixes.

Luckily i can download that in 20ish minutes.

Yeah, I'm thinking they couldn't figure out how to modify each file without having to completely replace it with a whole modified version.

You'd think they'd have better tools than the mod tools we had to use for the original game. ;)

So that confirms that they don't test anything before they put it out or else they would have noticed the fatecard issue was still present (as well as the helicopter leg zeds too)

Its kind of ridiculous that they have to patch a patch to make it right. It is also ridiculous that the patch is 7gb 1 week after another patch.

I played with a guy that had 999 mines...
Will the update stop mods? Or enable that... cause I would love to see the new mods available. Tired of being the one to work my ass off and get kicked out every time missing out on level 7 unlocks. And they better fix the damage to the wall ratios.

Cause that shit is fucked up when an armless zed can manage to destroy a wall by smashing it's head into it...

I still haven't updated my game because I didn't feel like it and my Xbox will do it for me.

I hate how the leader boards can be consisted of people using modded weapons to instakill anything they want with no issue, if possible, just hard lock the ammo to 151/201 because Drum mags or large LMG mags are the largest. But knowing UL, that will most likely not happen.

I really hope they fix the infinite save bug as that is starting to appear more often enough.
